I HAD JIM AND ANNE BUILD A GT-400 FOR ME A-WHILE BACK.....IT WAS A SUPER NICE PLANE. I-THINK THERE MAY STILL BE A PICTURE OF IT ON THIS WEB SITE. ANYHOW THEY WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING...YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE THAN DOING BUSINESS WITH JIM HILL AND ANNIE AT ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT OF IOWA..... THEY ARE A JOY TO KNOW AND TO WORK AND FLY WITH. MY NAME IS PAUL MENEFEE 623-876-8678

Jim is a joy to know and is helpful and has a great fund of knowledge. He has put in considerable time helping me find the right plane. He has also helped me avoid big mistakes when looking at aircraft owned by someone else. Even after months of my looking he still welcomes my calls and is willing to help. I am a cautious buyer and on the alert for people trying to cheat me. But after talking with Jim many times, I trust him enought to buy something unseen from him and take his word for it. That is a high recommendation coming from me. Usually in this type business an owner who is honest wont make nearly as much money as a crook would. By being honest Jim wont get rich in the aviation business but he will have a lot of really good friends across the country.

Looking to buy a Quicksilver, and then be trained to fly in your own machine? Then this is the place for you!! As a beginner, I wanted to learn to fly and get a reliable used machine from one location. Jim fit the bill to a T. He had many choices of planes, (both new and used), options for accessories, and time for instruction. I spent the first part of the week learning to fly, and the second half soloing in my own Sprint. A few weeks later, he delivered it to Northern Michigan, set it up, and test flew it for me. I couldn't have had a better experience purchasing my first ultralight! And not only the plane- I left the shop with a flight suit, com system, oil and spare parts!! Truly a one-stop shopping experience. Customer service after the purchase has been great also- from repair parts, to tech info, to tips and suggestions, Jim and Anne have been there for me whenever needed. I would highly recommend UAI to anyone looking to get into the ultralight sport. Jim and Anne are knowledgable, friendly and just plain fun to be around. A business with a down-home feel, but a safe and professional approach to the sport.

I purchased a Quicksilver Sport from Ultralight Aircraft of Iowa and had Jim Hill assemble the kit for me. Jim kept me informed with E-mail pictures of the progress through every step of assembly, and it is a real knock-out! Just a note to let you know that you have sewn the prettiest colors with the utmost precision. Your sailmaker did a killer job on my custom made sails. He has built me the plane of my dreams. I really love my aircraft. They are definitely a first class act! I thank everybody that had a part in getting my kit together and getting it right!. Many thanks. I'm really going to enjoy this airplane, thanks again. Jim Hill is really an asset as a dealer for Quicksilver. He has just really been great! Billy Johns, 74 Ken Road, Dexter, New Mexico 88230. Jim and Anne run a wonderful dealership there in Iowa. They offer the best prices on new quicksilver kits and accesories, and they provide courteous, knowledgeable support during assembly. I must have called Jim about a hundred times while I was building my MX Sprint. What a patient man he is! You will not find a friendlier dealer. I even took a trip out to Iowa for a few days and completed my flight training with Jim. I soloed in my MX when I returned home. I've since logged nearly 50 hours of solo flight. Knock on wood, I'm still alive, and I haven't even bent any tubes! Iowa ultralights has a really nice facility. They've got a state-of-the-art hangar adjacent to a lengthy municipal runway, which is remarkably devoid of other air traffic. It's a great set-up. Jim and Anne are great, and they run a superb dealership.

When we were first interested in purchasing an ultralight Jim provided us with a wealth of information. He was always there when we had any questions. After months of research and hours of phone discussion with Jim and Ann we finally decided to purchase a Sport 2S. We were looking for a new one but didn't want to invest the time to build it. Jim found us one with 14 hours on it that was in mint condition. They got it back to the hangar and put everything on that we requested and more. They did things for us that weren't expected but greatly appreciated! when we went out to pick up the airplane they gave us a whole weekend of instruction and information. They spent more time adding more things for us while we were there. After they dissassembled it and packed it for us we drove it 700 miles in a rented truck and never got a scratch on it. They were always there when we got home to help us with reassembly. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend purchasing an ultralight from Jim and Ann! We may buy another one from them in the future!

I'm fortunate to live close to Jim and Ann in Manchester, IA. I have purchased 3 different quicksilver ultralights and my current MXL2 just had an extreme makeover. What a wonderful job they do and all the extra time they take to make sure everything (everything) is done correctly. They offer sound, safe advice on buying, maintaining, upgrading, etc. They have top notch parts and accessories. I cannot say enough about the wonderful support and hospitality. If your looking to buy or just go for a flight, a trip to Ultralight Aircraft of Iowa is well worth the trip.

Subject: Scott's Pics of Quicksilver Sport

Hello Jim and Anne:

Here are some long overdue pics of me and my beloved Sport.

I have many more to send, a couple of me in flight, takeoffs and such.

I did one of these in a grainy black and white fashion after one
of the guys mentioned I looked straight out of 1913. :)

Well I also wanted to take the time to say thank you again I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience buying my first ultralight. Always taking the time to answer any of my concerns, and listen to a few flight stories along with it, way after the bill of sale has been completed.

I hope this finds you both well, and safe flying.

Very Sincerely:

A 200% satisfied customer and friend. Scott M Griffin

It definitely ranks up there as one of the best days of my life. No kidding. It was mid-afternoon. The air was clear, and the sun was sneaking through scattered clouds. There were 5 of us. Me, Jim, two guys from Ohio (one is a commercial pilot), and one guy from Wisconsin. We set out in 3 ultralights. I was flying with the commercial pilot, two of the other guys were in another 2-seater quicksilver, and Jim was flying solo. We all took off out of Manchester and had a ball. We went barnstorming, stopping at nearby grass landing stips where Jim had a friend who also flew an ultralight. We would land, get out, talk with the owner of the landing strip, laugh about our landings, and take off and fly to another strip. It was such a beautiful afternoon, and I felt like a little kid, excited about where the next place would be where we would land. We flew for about 3 hours, and when we came back to the hangar, Ann was preparing a bbq dinner of steak, shrimp, corn, all kinds of good stuff. We all ate and talked about how awesome the flying was, looking out over the fields and the nearby airstrip as it settled in the evening sun. It was truly a memorable experience. The whole time I was in Iowa, and even in preparing for coming out to Iowa, I was so happy with the service and the friendliness of Jim and Ann. I felt very welcome, and was really taken care of. I was interested in getting my sport pilot license, and there weren't many places that offered this certification with an ultralight. I looked around and found Jim and Ann. I then called them up and talked to Ann who was very knowledgable about the FAA regulations and certification requirements. I decided, why not. I'm going to get my license in Iowa. Sure enough, I was the first guy they had from Connecticut. But no worries, they made me feel very much at home. Everything about the experience was great. The training, the planes were well kept and performed well, and the atmosphere was terrific. I had a lot of training to do since I only had a week to learn all the Sport Pilot written knowledge and prepare for the practical flight test with the examiner. But, with both their help, I was able to get it all in and accomplished what I set out to do: achieve my sport pilot rating. Iowa is a great place to fly, and you can't wish for a better location or for a better group of people than at Ultralight Aircraft of Iowa. Hopefully I'll be back next summer!

Hi Jim and Ann, Thanks for the great time, and making the transition from Ultralight Pilot to Sport Pilot less stressful. The 925 mile drive from Virginia was well worth it, and can’t wait to visit again. Everything there is first class. I have never seen so many Quicksilvers in one place. And every one of them was a work of art. What a great job building and maintaining your planes. Thanks again. Bill Dohm

Thanks so much for making the trip and setting up the Sport Pilot test session at Boulder City, NV in January. If it wasn't for you, Ann and Dick, I would have not had time to complete the transition before the final date of the rule. Your professionalism and courtisy is second to none! Thanks for making the transition so much less stressfull. I can say, If you are transitioning to Sport Pilot, Jim's team can't be beat in so many ways. See you in IA for the S-12 speed endorsement this Spring. One Happy S.P. !!!

Hey JIM: this is Gary Bipes, Hector mn. You are doing a great business and when I was there was impressed. When I got that pink Mx from the guy you knwe at your city airfield, I recently put a new 503 air cooled. and I have added the wing tip fences, and have wheel pants and this plane, this plane nnow has great performance. I was wondering how much trouble is was to get MX's certified. They are very simple. I took off all the wireing and added a Kunzelman hot box and have the new rotax starter, and added more inst, to the panel. I have snow skies w/wheels so I have been foying on the blacktop until we get some snow. I was wondering what it takes to do the process.??? As you know I am a A & P so I would think that this would be simple to do. any help you can give me Jim would be nice. Thanks. I'm thinking of listing the plane for now, and keep my rans S 12 but I have to decide. I have put about 12,000.00 in the plane with the new 503, and all the new wiring, and it flys better than with the old 532 and is a lot lighter. what is your thoughts. Thanks Jim. Gary YOU run a first class operation I know I was there.

Jim Hill, Ann Meyer and Mark, thanks again for the transition course in Boulder,Nevada. Without your kindness, patience, professionalism and care, it would have been much more difficult to have transitioned before the Deadline. You are the first people I have found that really care about your customers and friends. I will come back to you anytime I want to move forward with future endorsements or Quicksilver products.

Jim & Ann, Finally got enough time away from that unending grind at the hospital to drive over to Bever's and check out the plane. It was everything Jim said it was and we were like a couple of kids at Christmas. Haven't received anything from the FAA yet. About how long does that transfer take? Anyhow, we look forward to meeting you guys in the future and if we can ever do anything for you by the way of references, we would be more than happy to do so. Once again, thanks for everything. I was interested in purchasing a like new used Quicksilver sport 2s. I called many other dealears and never got any calls back. I even drove to a so called dealer in my home state and I was very diaspointed with what I had found after driving 3 hours. Then by luck I ran across Jim and Ann at Ultralight Aircraft of Iowa. Ann e-mailed me several pictures and answered all of my questions, She was a huge help, as I knew nothing about these planes. I decided That I wanted to buy from Jim and Ann, but they were 850 miles away from me, I gave them a deposit on my plane and they held it for me for until I was able to get some flight time. Well a couple of months went by and we made the trip to Iowa from Pa. When we arived in Iowa I was in shock, because my plane was so much better then they had told me. Jim and Ann are a very honest dealer! I was very happy. We stayed there for three days and Jim and Ann acted like we had been friends forever. They answered all of my questions about taking care of my Quicksilver. Then we met Rick another Great person that works with Jim and Ann. Rick started with my training and was very helpful. I flew with Rick and then Jim and in a few days I was SOLO!!! To make a long story short I would drive another 1700+ miles again to deal with Jim and Ann again! You have a customer and a friend for life! Thank You for everything, Kevin and Dan McGowan

Jim was instumental in getting me airbourne on my quicksilver sport 2S. He even flew out to AZ to meet me, go over my bird, adjust a few things, and fly around. I didn't even buy my plane from him!!! That tells you what kind of guy Jim is. He loves his business. We have became good friends ever since. If you want the best advise on this sport....contact Jim Hill. Thanks Jim!!!!!
